Here We Go Rocket!

Just a few random pics I took before the game on January 20, 2010...

Warming up... or... standing on the ice watching the other team warm up (atta boy Stitzy!)? One of the two! haha, I can joke now cause we won =P

Mosher in nets... had a great, great night tonight! That boy does not get the credit he deserves...

More standing around... I mean... practicing!

Finally starting to move!

First seconds of the game... notice the lack of attendance? It makes me sad/angry. The Rocket really are a fantastic team and deserve the island support!

PEI Hall Of Fame (and by 'hall'... I mean, room)

Alright, these are some pics I took tonight before the Rocket's game (which we won in a s/o)!

This is the wall of famous islanders! All people that have played, coached, or staffed at team in the NHL at one point or another... sometime soon I'll go through it and throw out some names you might recognize.

Brad Richards anyone? Yes, as much as I'm not a fan of his... it's true... he is an islander and he does play in the NHL (I use the term *play* loosely). Here's two autographed jerseys from when he played in TB and won the cup, and then where he is now with the Stars.

Good ol' Bill MacMillan, sort of a legend. He won the cup with the Leafs, back when they use to win games...
He works at the liquor store now with my dad... yep.

Forbie Kennedy... UGH, a Flyer? Yes, if we can produce someone like Richards, we can also produce a Flyer.
He was obviously before my time, and I'm sure he was a good guy... I mean, it's not like they pick where they play... right?

Lastly, just an over view of the room when you first walk in... a bit blurry (my apologises).
It's actually pretty cool and there's a lot of great stuff in there... it deserves more time then I've given it but, I'll also go back sometime and go through each exhibit.

PEI Rocket

History

The PEI Rocket are an ice hockey team in the Quebec Minor Junior Hockey League, also known as the QMJHL or the 'Q'.

The PEI Rocket was granted the opportunity to franchise in 2003, but that was not the beginning of the team;
The Rocket were originally the Montreal Rocket, from 1999-2003.

The team gets it's name from the legendary Maurice 'The Rocket' Richard, formerly of the Montreal Canadians. **It's interesting to note that their team symbol, still depicts his number 9.
